Completed - Porter and Acres Intersection

The Porter and Acres Intersection Project was the first 2019 Transportation Bond Program project completed, which opened in January of 2022.  This project reconfigured the intersection at Porter Avenue and Acres Street from five legs to a traditional four-leg intersection.  In doing so, East Daws Street access to Porter was closed and the west leg terminated short of Porter Avenue at a new cul-de-sac to improve safety and operations at the intersection.  In addition to the roadway changes, new signals and pedestrian improvements were added at the intersection.  Finally, streetscape elements such as decorative lighting, landscaping and sidewalks were added along Porter Avenue from north of Hughbert Street to Gray Street.  These improvements will coincide with the upcoming Porter Avenue Streetscape 2019 Bond project, located on Porter Avenue between Robinson Street and Alameda Street, to be bid in October 2022 with construction starting on early 2023.
